As the cold Austrian winters were approaching and fields were filled with snow, my ancestors spent their time working indoors. While females devoted themselves to cross stitching, the men did so with building tools, like the two-man saw, for forestry work.That was the case until their later replacement by the chainsaw, which led them to slowly rust away in the sheds.
Engelbert is inspired by my grandfather Engelbert who constructed said saw over a century ago. Digital production methods help present a hanging object inspired by the saw of my ancestors, made out of aircraft metal and stainless steel, creating a glamorous luster, freed from the rust and dust of its history.
