Growing up between Vienna and my grandparents’ farm in Carinthia, areas of tension and contrasts have shaped my life from an early age onwards. I thus saw the work "Maria F." as an opportunity to further approach the subject of structure and culture. The cross structure suggested here is based on the traditional form of the brick stable windows, which are found on my grandparents’ farm. This hard motif is broken up by lovely floral elements, which have their origins in the Carinthian Kreuzstich. The 80 pieces together form a large flower bed, each work created by utilizing the industrial production method of laser technology, however each component is unique.
